The traffic signs of life

Sin is equivalent to the laws we have studied in physics. Sin can be thought of as Newton’s third law of motion.  Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Every sin that I love to practice today has a reciprocating effect in the spiritual realm tomorrow. Every sin is like a giant that the Israelites saw on their way to the Promised Land.  The more we feed those giants today, the more difficult a task it will be to kill those same giants tomorrow. The Bible says in Galatians 6:8, “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life”. Therefore it is necessary that we choose whom to feed.

We have directions along the roadside saying, “This is one way, there is a speed breaker in the front, and there is a U turn up front”. We try our level best not to breach the traffic rules because we know that it will result in an unnecessary penalty if we are rebellious. We may have to face sudden accidents that could cost us our life if we don’t stick to the traffic rules.  It is mandatory to follow the rules in order to reach the destination safely.

When we only know where to go but not how to get there, we will follow the directions and danger signs very carefully so that we are not held up anywhere. The walk of faith is exactly like a journey on the road. How good it will be when such danger signs are put in our daily life and we stick to them. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5: 8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
